So, I have lost about 2.5 stone over the last couple of years! It has come off gradually due to the fact that I simply don't eat as much as I used to and I move a lot more (thank you Fitbit!).
I don't go to the gym, although I wish I did and am determined to start back again now I have got back into a routine with Harvey (our Westie puppy!), as I want to tone up a bit.
Having said all that, as it has been gradual I hadn't realised how much of a difference it had made until I put these two photos together this morning.
Yesterday, I put on a pair of jeans I bought in Florida in December 2011 and was literally shocked at how big they were for me.
I think the main difference is that I now eat breakfast. Generally the same thing every morning which is some greek yoghurt, some berries and a sprinkling of granola; it's gorgeous, it tastes like dessert! Oh, and I walk Harvey every day.
I still eat pretty much whatever I want to, just not as much of it. I am not dieting at all. I keep a rough mental tally of what I have eaten and try not to eat more in calories than I have burnt off (I use the fitbit app on my phone to keep an eye on that) and that seems to have done the trick :) This week I have had fish and chips from the chip shop, baked potato with beans and cheese and meatballs covered in cheese, we do go out for meals a lot when Mark is home and I am definitely not going to limit myself when I look at the menu (although I may go a bit easy on the calories the next day).
I have gone from almost 12st and a size 14 to just over 9st and a size 10. That's enough, I don't want to lose anymore because at 5'7" I think any more would make me look too skinny. In 1995 I lost weight and was about 8st, I looked like a skeleton which is not a good look on anyone!
I am very happy, and yes, I stood on the toilet to take the photos! I really need to get a full length mirror, I am pretty sure that not having a full length mirror is why I put on weight without realising in the first place :D
