Craft Room Pictures - A Work In Progress

Sorry no posts but things have been a bit hectic here at home!

The craft room is finished enough for me to be using it right now :)  I still need to get some blinds, put up some pictures and sort out all my stash but I am still having such fun in here!  Oh, I need some shelves and to tidy up the wires under the desk as well!!

Here are some photographs so far...

    ScrapRoom1

The computer area (and my very old sewing machine!)

    ScrapRoom2

The scrapping desk (my cutting mat needs a good scrub!), I love that I can just whizz over to the computer and then back to my scrapping.

    ScrapRoom3

The TV corner, please excuse the nappy boxes holding my stash - I will be changing these and sorting out the top of the unit as soon as I can get to Ikea for my storage boxes and shelves.

    ScrapRoom4

    My lovely big expedit unit!

    ScrapRoom5

The high worktop area.  This is where the kids sit and craft but is also going to be a great extra area for me as I do like to stand up and scrap sometimes, also it is an extra desk for when someone else comes to scrap with me :)

I can't wait to 'pretty it all up' a bit, my stash has just been literally chucked in the shelves and the moment and nothing is sorted or stored as I have planned yet, I will get there eventually!

Talking of having fun in my craft room, Design Objectives have sent me a Quickutz Silhouette SD (did you spot it in the photos?) and I love it so much, I hope they don't want it back because I am not sending it!!  I can't wait to try out the glass etching technique with it, I definitely need to create some vinyl wall art and I just love that you can auto trace anything you like to create your own designs for your cards and pages.  On top of all that you can access the Quickutz library of shapes and download them for use again and again at the bargain price of $1.99 each!

Well, I am going to sign off so that I am all ready to watch The Apprentice.

    The Little Things

It's funny how silly little things can make you happy!  Today I received a tin of vintage buttons which I bought from a seller on ebay - I am reminded of playing with Mum's button tin when I was little.

    Buttons

They will look great on layouts and cards too!

    It's Certainly Green

We painted the craft room on Saturday night and I love the colour, it is certainly green!  It is going to look lovely with the white furniture - I can't wait until the wood floor goes down!

Here are some photographs taken mid-paint but it is all done now.  My desk is going to be 'L' shaped and go under the two windows.

    Paint2

This is the corner that will have my 5 x 5 Ikea Expedit unit :)  The plugs on the wall are where the TV is going to be mounted.

Also on Saturday I went to the Plymouth crop and had a great time as usual :)  I did this layout of Ben whilst I was there.

I have used the gorgeous Jellybean Soup papers and I love them - I am beginning to love this manufacturer.  The edges of the layout have been distressed with some orange chalk ink which the scanner has cut off but it looks lovely in real life.

    Now She is Six!

    Poppet62

I can hardly believe that Charlotte was six today!  She has had a lovely day, pretty much a Build-a-Bear birthday as Nanny and Grandad bought her the Hannah Montana bear that she wanted (with the 'Best of Both Worlds' song as it's sound) and Aunty Carol and Uncle Colin provided the Hannah Montana outfit.

I took her into town this morning to get another Build-a-Bear as an extra, she chose the Unicorn and it is gorgeous.

I also couldn't resist buying the gorgeous pink plush armchair for her Hello Kitty Build-a-Bear that she got for her birthday last year!!  It's impossible not to spoil Charlotte so she also got a new outfit for the Hello Kitty bear.

Charlotte's main present was a lovely pink bike which she fell off cutting her elbow about 10 minutes after getting on it, bless her, she wasn't happy to be bleeding on her birthday.

This evening we all went out for a Pizza Hut, including Nanny, Grandad and Aunty Carol. I think Charlotte had a lovely birthday and now she has, finally, gone to bed!  That's if she can get in it with all those new bears!!

    My Completely Best Family

I think I forgot to upload this layout.  It is from the my article about cut out photographs in the current issue of The Scrapbook Magazine.

This layout was inspired by Lauren Child's Charlie and Lola art and Claudine Hellmuth.

    First Snow

I made this layout a couple of months ago but I forgot to put it on my blog.  I loved playing with the paint dabber on the acetate.  We didn't get much snow when the country was snowed in recently but we did have a little flurry which amazed Amy.

The ribbon on this layout was the packaging around the dressing gown that Mark got me for Christmas even the bow was already tied for me, I love it!

    Such A Charming Girl

    SuchACharmingGirl

A little layout that I did at the last Plymouth evening crop, very quick to do with the fantastic Fancy Pants Kraft Cuts, I just cut around the tree and slid my photograph in behind the paper.

    Craft Room Update

The craft room is coming along nicely :)  The furniture is being delivered on Wednesday and the flooring is also coming this week (enough to do the kitchen and hallway too) so things are really moving on.  Most importantly we now have a proper roof and the walls are going up :)  I have chosen the paint colour, it is the green in this picture (pinched from the Dulux website):

The plugs on the wall are for my TV, we have finally got a decent aerial so I know I am going to have a decent picture in there - always a plus.  In fact I love the fact that I am getting plug sockets exactly where I want them.

I have been spending so much of my time thinking about organisation of all the 'stuff' that I want to go in the room and basically getting nowhere!  I think I need to wait until the storage unit and desks have arrived so that I can buy the appropriate storage solutions.  The trouble is I just want it all done now :D

    Happy Easter

We are having a very lazy Easter Sunday and it is lovely!  Amy went down for a sleep and Ben and Charlotte were being nice and quiet so I thought I would quickly whip up a birthday card - I haven't been scrapping much lately due to my craft room being built (update on that tomorrow) so it was nice to do something crafty.

    Hollybirthdaycard2009

I stamped part of the image on the inside of the card to match the front and just added a little bit of selective colouring with my Copic markers.

    A Very Good Weedener!

Challenge 105 has just 'gone live' over at the Mojoholder blog with Rachelle MacIver as this weeks guest.

Here is my take on this weeks challenge:

    Sarah105

We have been taking advantage of the lovely weather we have been having this week by spending some time in my Mum's garden.  The kids have had great fun getting covered in mud 'helping' Grandad do his gardening, Ben said that he is a very good 'weedener'!  I got a some lovely photographs, here are some random ones.
