People who know me well in scrapbook circles will know that one of my very favourite designers is Jennifer Mcguire and that is why I was so excited that she agreed to be a guest on Mojoholder this week! I loved the layout that we chose for inspiration so much that I just completely scraplifted it - usually I change a few things and try to put my own slant on the layouts that we have but this week, not a chance - the design was just too perfect for some photos I had so I just copied!
Here is the inspiration behind the layout
Well, the summer holidays are just plodding along, the weather is beginning to get me down but at least we had a nice dry day yesterday and we all spent the afternoon in Mum's garden. I am looking out of the window now (midday on Friday) and the clouds are back in the sky and it looks like the rain will be back again soon :(
I have been tagged by Karen to pick up the most handy book and post a particular sentence on my blog - here goes:
The Book: The Pirate's Daughter by Margaret Cezair-Thompson
The 5th Sentence on the 161st page reads:
'But when was there time to think or plan?'
I know that feeling!
I am going to tag:
Mum
Carol
Fiona
Jill
Linda

I just wanted to do a little something creative the other day and as all three children were in the craft room with me it had to be something little! I haven't made an ATC for ages so that is what I made. It is really pretty in real life - the photo doesn't really show the colours on the acetate butterfly wings which I coloured with my copics.
I had a nice day yesterday (despite not feeling 100%) as I went to Jill's for a Stampin' Up party and I was really restrained in my purchases! I couldn't resist the Choc Chip ink pad and cardstock though and I finally succumbed to the Stampin' Up Stamp Scrub and Mist because I have it on good authority (You Know Who You Are!) that it is the best Stampin' Up purchase to be made. I came home from the party happy to have seen all the girls between crops (and v. happy to see Heli who I haven't seen for ages). I made a make-shift roast (hadn't been shopping but managed to throw a decent attempt together anyway) and sat down to watch Top Gear and On Thin Ice with a box of Thornton's Choccies!
I was supposed to be sorting out my patterned papers last night but the chocolates were more appealing. I may do that today but I am still debating whether to sort them by colour or by manufacturer.

Yesterday was our wedding anniversary, we have been married for 17 Years! Where does the time go? Today's picture is a photograph of a charcoal sketch that hangs on the wall in our lounge. Mark had this sketch done for our first wedding anniversary whilst we were living in Hong Kong - a little man in a tin shack on the side of Queens Road, Mid-Levels drew this for us and I love it so much!!

Well, it's officially the summer holidays. Ben and Charlotte broke up from School last Wednesday and we have eight weeks of fun, merriment and me tearing my hair out! I can't wait until we go on holiday in a few weeks - we are only going to Haven again but the kids love it there so much and so do I :) It is going to be a little different this year with Amy so I don't think we will be going out in the evenings so much, I have a feeling getting into the entertainment lounge with a pushchair is going to be chaos! Amy will also be running around everywhere and she may be going through her terrible two's at the moment but I really don't want to lose her!!
Last weekend was the Plymouth crop again. I absolutely love going and seeing the girls and having a day all to myself is just fabulous. I was quite productive managing to finish a layout for Creativity Life and also doing this layout of Ben.
These photographs were taken on my birthday when we took a trip to Lands End. Kids just love these rope swings don't they? I know Ben and Charlotte do. I was thrilled that these photographs have such beautiful scenery in the background - you would never know it was an awfully windy day and we could barely stay outside.
Well, that's it for now, have a good weekend :)

This layout is one I was asked to create for Scrapbook Layout of the week for the DoCrafts website. It is really pretty in real life. I can't understand why the picture on the DO website is so bad because I sent them the image I have used here.
I had a lovely day yesterday. I spent all day at the Plymouth crop doing what I love to do best (chatting, eating and scrapbooking) and then went out for a girly night to celebrate my friend Debbie's birthday in the evening :) A great day!
Today I have to go and help Ben and Charlotte make their teacher cards for the end of term. They break up from school a week early because of the closure (they also go back a week later so I will have them home for EIGHT weeks!!).

I have just returned from a fabulous Samba parade at the kids school. The school is closing down this year and a new school has been built locally to merge our school and another local school. Whilst it is going to be brilliant that Ben, Charlotte and eventually Amy are going to be attending a brand spanking new school it is very sad that the current school is closing down and the excellent headmaster is retiring (I think I will be crying next Wednesday on the final day). To celebrate the school today there was a Samba parade led by the year 6's around the local streets and each class was dressed up as a different decade to celebrate the years since the school has been open (1940's). Ben was dressed up as the 1990's and Charlotte as the 1980's. The parade was wonderful and Myself, Mum and Amy were running around the streets following it!! When we got back to school each class was performing a song in the school field from the era they were dressed up in - unfortunately it started to rain and then there was a little thunder so we were all very quickly ushered inside to the school hall to enjoy the rest of the show. The atmosphere in the hall was great and Ben performed the Spice Girls 'Spice Up Your Life' and Charlotte was given 'Agadoo' (surely they could have found a better 1980's song!). Anyway, I can't think of enough adjectives to explain how good it was but I thoroughly enjoyed it! Unfortunately I didn't take my camera (what was I thinking?) but a friend of mine has managed to capture it on video and says she has some close up shots of the kids. Amy was a little overwhelmed by it all.
Tonights Mojoholder guest is Pearl Liu, this is my take on this weeks challenge:
And here is the challenge:
Make sure you pop over to
Mojo for the full sized sketch and the other girls takes on the challenge.

I don't think I have shared these layouts before, I have had a quick look through my archives and I can't see them.
This was a layout that I did for Creativity Life magazine using imaginesce papers and rubons. I love the little fox rubber stamp that I have coloured with my copic markers.
This layout of Ben crafting in the kitchen (pre-craft room days) was for the DOcrafts website Scrapbook layout of the week a few months ago.
The next one was a layout for Mojoholder, the guest was Marla Kress and I absolutely loved the sketch that we created from her layout!
This was the sketch I drew from the layout:
and here is my layout:
Take care :)
