I finished the baby blanket last week, I just haven't had change to blog it yet. I love these colours as much as the bright version, it's so pastel and babyish.
Afton isn't having it yet! I am going to give it to her when her baby girl is born (or just before) because I like looking at it :)
I came up with a different edging for this blanket. When crocheting the other stripey blanket I chose the colours randomly but for this one I chose an order using six colours (white, pink, yellow, green, blue and lilac) and repeated it up the length of the blanket ending on a row of blue. I then Started a row of trebles in the last colour (lilac) and carried it around the perimeter which meant the lilac that went along the bottom of the blanket (the first white edge) continued the pattern because it would have been the colour before the white in the pattern (does that make sense?). It worked out really well and finishes it off lovely. I then crocheted another row of treble triple clusters around the edge in white, did a round of white double crochet and finished with this simple shell:
Shell Row: *Slip stitch, skip a stitch, five trebles in next stitch, skip a stitch* repeat to end.
Simple and pretty.
We saw Afton last weekend and there was a funny conversation:
Afton: I will just be glad when the nine months are up so it is all over
Mark: 9 months Afton! More like 20 years!
Her boyfriend looked a bit shell shocked ha ha.
