What a quick knit this was! As soon as I saw this pattern I knew I had to knit this cardigan because it is so 'me', I just love it.
It is the Vine Lace Cardigan by Sweaterbabe and is knitted in chunky wool on 8mm needles so it grows very quickly. The pattern is easy, the lace is a very simple pattern, the pockets are so cute but overall it is a perfect, shaped yet cuddly cardi :)
I knitted this in Jarol Sweet Briar chunky which is a wool (30%) / acrylic blend. This yarn is an absolute dream to knit with and a bargain too, I knitted this cardigan for £18 because the yarn is less than £3 for a 100g ball; I used the Charcoal. I only just started the 6th ball so I have enough left to knit a chunky hat too). The finished cardigan looks just like the one on the pattern (which would have cost about 3 times as much to knit in the Lambs Pride Bulky which is recommended).
I managed to knit mine in five days and that wasn't sitting down all day every day it was just knitting in the evenings mainly apart from a day at my Mum's. I have some red chunky wool in my craft room (Debbie Bliss Glen) so I think I may be making another one of these in the near future.
Here are som pictures. Excuse me in the photos, I hate me but I had to be inside the cardigan to show it off!
This cardigan is going to be so useful this winter (well, even this summer if the weather continues to be so horrendous!).
Have a good weekend :)
