So in May (!) I showed you that I was knitting the beautiful Peerie Flooers hat which is a gorgeous pattern from Kate Davies. Well, I did finish it but I don't think I ever go around to blogging about it! I have also knitted the matching mittens. I looooove the set and can't wait for the winter to wear the hat and mittens. I don't think I will be waiting long at this rate and once the weather starts to change I just want it to be winter, I don't like all this 'iffy' weather, I like to know where I stand when it comes to choosing my clothes in the morning.
Here is the hat. Not the greatest photograph but there comes a time when you just think 'I am not going to get a better one', so this will have to do!
I loved knitting the hat!
I didn't love knitting the mittens as much because the pattern uses a tiny circular needle which played havoc with the bad grip issues I have with my hands. If I knitted them again I would use double pointed needles instead. Having said that, the mittens are beautiful!
If you love knitting fair isle patterns you really need these in your life, just gorgeous.
I used the suggested yarn (Rowan Fine Tweed) and it is lovely to knit with and feels luxurious.
