So. Scrapbooking a full 12" x 12" layout has seemed like a daunting task to me for a long time because it is rare that I have a length of time in my craft room that enables me to complete an entire layout and I don't like to leave things 'half done'. I completed a couple of layouts last year but that was all! Enter Project Life.
I think that [the great] Becky Higgins conceptualised Project Life just for me because it is the perfect format. Project Life (as many thousands of seasoned Project Lifer's will tell you) is a way of scrapbooking your memories very quickly whilst allowing you the opportunity to be as creative (or not creative) as you like. I am on week four of Project Life 2013 and I LOVE IT.
I have one of the Project Life Core Kits (if you are in the UK, buy your supplies from HERE) but it really isn't necessary to have a kit, I find I am using it but that I am also digging into my stash of scrapbooking papers just as frequently as I am the kit to find papers that can be cut down and used in my album. However, the kits are a great starting block if you are new to Project Life or even scrapbooking itself (the items can just as easily be used on traditional pages).
What I love most is the eclectic, intersting, colourful, FAMILY album that this concept helps you to produce and I just can't wait to see what it all looks like at the end of the year!
Anyway.....as I said I have started and I am on week 4 so this week I will share the layouts I have done so far and also my thoughts on my Project Life process because each week it is changing but I think I am now getting to a place where I like how my layouts are turning out and I am enjoying the way I am approaching the task.
Here is my Project Life cover page for 2013.
On this page I have used the title block from the Cherry core kit and some journaling cards from the Pebbles Seen & Noted collection. I have a Grid card which has been decorated with some Smash tape and then stitched with the sewing machine, a freebie camera icon and a couple of punched hearts.
I will share Week 1 soon :)
I will still do 12" x 12" layouts but I think they will probably go into the PL album and I may actually get my scrapbooking down in chronological order. For once!
I am excited! Can you tell?
