Holiday Monday Freebie

The other day when Amy was colouring in I decided to have a little sketch too.  I quite liked what I drew so I made it into a digi stamp to use on cards and in art journaling. If you like her you can use her too because I am offering her as a freebie :)

Here is a quick card I made with the stamp but I am looking forward to doing some more with her once the kids are back at school.  And.  Maybe. Try to draw some more!

This card was made by colouring the Grungy Ballerina with Prismacolor pencils and using bits of paper from my scrap box.

Geek Girl Card

Here is the card I made for my friend Jo for her birthday last month.  I love the stamp by Kenny K, so much fun to colour in, I used Copic markers for this one.

And, of course, I decorated the inside :)

Jo liked it, that's the main thing :)

 

Happy Birthday...

...Mum!

It's my Mum's 70th birthday today.  I can't believe she is 70 she seems so young!

Here is the card I made for her, I am so pleased with it that I didn't want to give it away, the photographs just don't do it justice.  This is a large 8" x 8" card.

I hand stitched around the edge of the card (I love that Stampin' Up! piercing template, it makes for perfect stitches).  The little girl is from Whiff of Joy stamps and has been coloured with watersoluable pastels.  The flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts were white and I have distressed them with Scattered Straw and Walnut Stain Distress Inks after spritzing them with pink Glimmer Mist. 

The 'Mum' Stamp is from a set from the Papermania 'Relations' set.  It stamps beautifully and it is such a handy set.  I cut the 'Mum' tag, '70' and the leaves with my Silhouette.  I have also used Nestibilities and Die-namics dies.  The birthday cake stamp is from Stampavie 'Cakes are Yummy' set.

A card for summer

I have had a busy morning so far!  I have been sorting out washing, invoices, children, paperwork and goodness knows what else so I thought it was time for a cup of coffee and a quick browse on the internet.  You have got to love Google Reader - all my favourite blogs in one place and ready and waiting for me to scroll through them.  I do hate it when a blog has only a snippet of information on there and not the whole post, I very rarely click through to read it, nope, not even on Sir Tim Holtz's blog. 

Here is another one of the cards I made on Saturday at the crop.  Yes it's another Anya stamp, what can I say? I love them.

I have got a brand new June DT kit from Scrapagogo calling out to me right now, but first I have a few more jobs to do!

Hugs and Kisses

I had a lovely day yesterday cropping with the usual suspects (you know who you are) at the Plymouth crop.  I decided that my card collection needed a boost as I have been using them for birthdays etc but not really making any to replenish my stock.  I have only photographed one so far.

I love how this one turned out because this bright green isn't a colour I would normally use on a card but I am so glad I did.  Being at a crop presents you with problems though and despite taking almost my entire craft room with me (and yes the Artbin wheely tote just fits in the boot of a mini) I had forgotten to take embroidery floss so when I stitched around the edge of this card using linen thread it took quite a long time!  I love the look though.

I love the Anya stamps but I must get some different girls for my cards so that I can have a bit of of variety.  I coloured this little girl using Derwent watercolour pencils.

I have a little box that I keep random brads, buttons and other little embellishments ready to put in my crop bag.  The brad and the 'Hugs & Kisses' chipboard sentiment were from that box so I have no idea where they are from.  I used seam binding ribbon from my huge roll of Hugsnug that I ordered from the US - it is my favourite.

I also decorated the inside of the card but I forgot to photograph it.

Plymouth Crop (A few weeks ago!)

I went to a crop a couple of Saturdays ago and I had one of those days where I just wasn't in the mood to create at all.  I struggled all day and managed to complete a grand total of 2 cards!  I still had a great time though :)  Here are the cards.

I am loving the Whiff of Joy stamps.  I know that they have been around for ages but I have only just managed to use them.

This one is a bit plain and I was going to add a sentiment but I have decided that I quite like it just as it is :)

This week I have been busy altering something for a magazine commission and I have been covered in paint, gesso and multi-medium. Great fun!

Time to share what I have been doing this week, or more precisely What's on My Workdesk?

This is my desk as it looks this morning.

There are some lovely bright Kaisercraft papers, my craft mat and a rough list that I am making as I create this project so that it will be easer for me to write the article when it is finished.

It's the November kit from Scrapagogo which I have just recieved to carry out my design team obligations.  The contents of that little box are stunning and I can't wait to get started with it!

Greetings Kit

As promised here are some cards that I have made with the October Greetings kit from Scrapagogo.

I am still feeling a little rough so I will keep this post short and sweet.  I will just say that the Cosmo Cricket Pixielicious range is stunning!

Maya Road Chipboard Frames

Hello again!  Two posts in as many days, that's a turn up isn't it?

The current issue of Creative Cardmaking (Issue 19) is in the shops and I have some cards in there using the Maya Road Chipboard Frames.  By chance these cards use the same papers as yesterdays 'Family' layout.  I didn't even realise that I have used the same ones or that they would be in the shops at the same time.  Never mind, they are gorgeous papers by My Minds Eye.

I was asked to keep these cards fairly simple and quick to create but I think they turned out nice.

I love the little owl in the next card.  It is an old stamp from Stamps Away, I am not sure if he is still available but he looks so cute with the paper piecing and the googly eyes.

The next card has a window in the front and the sentiment is stamped inside the decorated card.

 

Aww, this is a really old photograph of Charlotte talking to Grandad on the phone, I love it.

I am have a little craft room purge at the moment because I need to get rid of some of the papers etc that I have been hoarding since 2006!  It's ridiculous.  I am aiming for a much more streamlined craftroom and I am just waiting for this gorgeous inkpad storage rack to be delivered (ordered from http://www.craftracks.co.uk/index.php).

Fresh New Fall

I have received my Scrapagogo DT kit for September and I started to play with it as soon as it arrived.  There is plenty of scope for autumnal layouts but I love that the 'backs' of a few of the papers feature blue patterns which make it possible for the kit to be used for beach / summer layouts as well.  The main feel to the kit is that it is back to nature, sort of organic - I love all the textures.

Those Prima leaves in the Greeting kit are lovely.
