Just a quick post to share a couple of new(ish) photographs of my craft room.
As much as I love my Ikea Expedit unit because it holds such a lot of 'stuff' I don't like that you can see that it holds a lot of stuff! So I invested in some of the black fabric boxes that Ikea do to fit the squares of the Expedit units.
After a bit of re-organisation I have the boxes in place and I much prefer how it looks now. Less cluttered. Not that the stuff inside the boxes looks particularly tidy at the moment, I still need to sort that a bit and I definitely need labels! I can't find anything and I have resorted to drawing a little chart of the unit with notes on it telling me where things are.
This is my lovely little corner with my bargain chair from the charity shop. It cost me (Mark) £30 and then I saw it new for £800. It's slightly battered but so comfortable, I love it! I have all my idea books and knitting and crochet books in the little Expedit Unit beside the chair. My yarn is in the black boxes closest to the chair (6 of them - oops!).
This is my desk. It has changed slightly since I took this photograph as the trusty old white Mac computer has died :( I put the new Mac in the dining room a while back because it seems to get more use in there. I just take my laptop into the craft room now and it works better because I have much more desk space that way, I tend to take a lot of room up when I am crafting but still only end up with a 8 inch square area on which to work. How does that happen? I have my old sewing machine - the one for paper - set up on the end of the desk now so that I can just pull it out when I want to use it (if there isn't a load of scrapbooking stuff blocking it).
Oh and I updated my blog design too. Much better :)
