I don't know what has happened to me lately but all I want to do is make all the things! Whether that be knitting, crochet, sewing, cross stitch, whatever! There is no time.
I have Miribilia's Persephone all ready to go on the frame! In fact, I did start it about a year ago and then I developed a cataract.
Even though I have had the cataract removed my sight just doesn't seem right and that is, very unfortunately, stopping me from doing this. Having said that I just go a brilliant new light so maybe, just maybe I will have a go soon. The light is not an actual craft / daylight lamp just a really bright halogen lamp. I have had lamps from the Daylight Company before and they ARE amazing but I just don't like the look of any of them in my room. I will see (ha!) how it goes.
Still on Cross Stitch, I have finished 2 out of 3 of the Tuscan Garden cross stitch patterns by the fantastic Michael Powell and I finished these about 11 years ago!! I still have to do the third on to complete the triptych. My Mum started hers at the same time as me and she has had them on her wall in the hall for years and years, you can see Mum's behind me in this picture.
Crochetwise (made up word) I am making a Christmas blanket which I will talk about on another post, I still have Vintage Striped blanket to finish and an Elmer Squares blanket which I making as a long term project with leftover Stylecraft Special DK. I also have about a million other projects that I want to start! I need to make a few more doilies.
I have all the 'things' to start to learn to do tatting and I really want to do that too but again, eyesight problems! Argh.
As for knitting, I want to make everything! I am currently making a cardigan, a shawl and a pair of socks. That isn't too much of a WIP list but, along with everything else I want to do, it is enough :) I will blog about these individual projects soon but if you want to take a look click on the links in my Ravelry bar to the right and you can see how the projects are going, or click here to go to my Ravelry project page.
And then there is sewing. I am not a very experienced sewist but when I do make something it has to be as perfect as can be, no machining across lining gaps, they are hand sewn etc, you get my drift. For example, I made a project bag yesterday. I competed it. I wasn't happy with the zip and it is now in pieces ready for the fabric to be re-ironed and for me to make another day (when the kids are not in the craft room with me!). I really want to sew more, I want to learn to quilt. I really want to learn to quilt.
So that's it. My name is Sarah and I want to make ALL the things.
