Nails | Shellac Experiment!

I have a new love, it is Shellac nails, done at home. By me :)

I got some Shellac nail polish and, not wanting to invest in a lamp to set it, I decided to see if my Teresa Collins Stampmaker would do the job.

It does!  Also, I didn't have any of the alcohol stuff to clean the residue of the top of the nails once they are done so I used surgical spirit because it was in the cupboard and I thought it's probably the same thing.  That worked perfectly too.  Happy dancing here as I just had to get some OPI Bond Aid and a bottle of Shellac polish to try it out.

To try it out I just bought a pale pink colour (Rose Bud) that can be worn anytime but now I know that it works I will be investing in some bolder colours.  I particularly like the 'Wildfire' colour and definitely need to get Negligee and Cream Puff to make a french manicure.  OMG, french manicures done with Shellac are going to be a-maaaaz-ing!

Canvas | Home

I felt like getting messy today in the ink and mod podge kind of way and as I haven't posted a video for a while here is one showing how this little canvas came to be.  It is just 5" x 7".

I have totally ruined my nails doing this today!  Yesterday they looked like this:

Now they look like I have dipped them in Mod Podge and put them in a pot of feathers and paint!  That's a job for this evening.

It was worth ruining my nails because now I have this cute little picture to put on my wall.  I think I will put it in the vestibule (sounds posh but is really just a pokey little hallway!).  I really enjoyed doing this today, I have been spending a lot of time knitting and crocheting lately so it was a nice change.  I have finally made a couple of pairs of socks which I will share soon!

Rainbow Nails

Oooh look!  Pretty nails.

I have been having so much fun messing around with my nails lately.  I am just waiting for them to grow a bit now.  I am very lucky as I have always had nails that grow very quickly and easily it's just that for the last few years - because of the kids - I have just kept cutting them down.  I don't intend to grow them as long as I used to but I am definitely going to have a bit of glamour going on there :)

You tube is fantastic isn't it?  There are so many nail art videos that I don't know which ones to try first.  Check out Robin Moses Nail Art, you will be amazed at her art.

This design wasn't from Robin Moses but I did copy it from one I saw on YouTube last week (I think it was IHaveCupcake).  I just added the flower using my new Konad stamping system.
